FESTofALL is a series of events being held on 24 June 2012 to bring Australia’s young carers together.

Free and open to all young carers and their support networks, the events will feature music, comedy and other entertainment.

FESTofALL aims to support and recognise Australia’s 380,000 young carers aged between 5 and 25, who provide regular and sustained care and support to another person without payment.

Young carers often take on responsibilities well beyond their years – from cooking and cleaning to managing finances and administering medication. FESTofALL is an opportunity for these young people to recognise their good work, meet other young carers, build support networks and have some fun!

Event assistance is available for community groups wishing to host their own events to encourage young carers to share with family, friends or their local community. Those who require transport assistance can apply for travel grants.

Events will take place in Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Canberra, Perth, Darwin and Hobart, with talent and entertainment to be announced in the coming weeks.

For more information and to register for FESTofALL, visit www.festofall.com.au and join the conversation at fb.com/FESTofALL2012 and @FESTofALL.  FestofAll is an Australian Government Initiative, funded by the Department of Family and Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
